Job Title: Skilled Metal Fabricator (x 2 posts)

Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire

Hours: Full time, 40 hours, Mon-Thursday 7am – 5pm (overtime as required)

Salary: £15-18 depending on experience

 

About You

We're seeking two Skilled Metal Fabricators who understand the stakes are high for our customers and will mirror our 'measure twice, cut once' approach. You appreciate the importance of careful planning and can navigate drawings and intricate 3D designs.

You're not just a welder; you're a fast-paced problem solver who will strive for exceptional standards.

You will ideally have experience in architectural metalwork and have a desire to learn all aspects of fabrication / metalwork / welding. You will already be familiar with MIG welding. Ideally, you will have experience working with stainless steel. Precision fabrication skills will also be a distinct advantage, as will the ability to TIG weld.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting customer drawings and technical blueprints.
  • Tacking together fabricated steel items ready for welding
  • Using machinery to cut, bend, and assemble pieces of metal.
  • Performing quality checks and making necessary adjustments.
  • Communicating with the design and customer teams to ensure the final product is up to standard.
  • Upholding health and safety regulations and maintaining a clean workspace.

 

Qualifications and skills

  • Proven experience in metal fabrication (at least 3 years).
  • CSCS card for site work.
  • Some knowledge and use of hand tools and machinery
  • Good standards of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Work well on your own initiative and as part of a team
  • Punctual and reliable
