Job Title: Draughtsman (with Pricing Skills)

Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, (4-day week)

Salary: £TBD

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Draughtsman with pricing skills to join our growing team. You will be responsible for creating accurate technical drawings and specifications for our architectural metalwork projects and ideally understand how to interpret those drawings into project estimations for our customers, to ensure competitive pricing. If you have a strong eye for detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with our design and project teams, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Create precise technical drawings and specifications based on project requirements.
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and project managers to ensure design feasibility and accuracy.
  • Incorporate pricing considerations into the drafting process to generate accurate project cost estimates.
  • Review and interpret design specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Maintain and update drawing libraries and documentation.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of drafting standards and procedures.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing information and materials data.
  • Support the project team with any necessary revisions or modifications to drawings.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Draughtsman, preferably in the architectural metalwork industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla or SolidWorks).
  • Strong technical drawing skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of pricing techniques and the ability to estimate project costs accurately.
  • Familiarity with architectural metalwork processes, materials, and industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong organisational skills and a keen sense of prioritisation.
